Several issues affect families, women and children in African and Africans living in the diaspora, including intergenerational poverty, financial exclusion and different types of inequalities. Not only do we undertake independent research within the African and other Ethnic Minority communities in Scotland, but we also run a number of programmes that seek to alleviate these particular challenges.

Adebimpe Ademosu Personal Tax Adviser

I work as a Personal Tax Adviser. The Data Analytics Training delivered by DAWSUN and sponsored by the ROSA Foundation was very insightful. The trainers had excellent ability to simplify complex processes and were very patient in ensuring that all the participants were carried along. Being part of the Data Analytics training has improved my confidence when working on numeracy.

Michelle Amoah Founder & CEO of XpeedStudio

I am a student at Strathclyde University. Our trainers on the Financial Literacy training were very knowledgeable in the subject area. The use of practical, relatable illustrations to explain theoretical concepts made the training very exciting and engaging. Thank you to ROSA Foundation for making this possible.

Mohammed Lawal Founder & CEO of XpeedStudio

The data analytics training was primarily practical. I learnt how to create a Business Intelligence Dash Board using PIVOT Tables and Charts. The trainers were very patient and highly approachable. I want to use this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to the funders of this project, the ROSA Foundation.

Yetunde Onifade Founder & CEO of XpeedStudio

The Data Analytics training exposed me to the foundations of exploratory and predictive data analysis. In addition, it is relevant to what I studied in my first degree and second degree. I got a laptop from DAWSUN during this training to support my learning, which was extremely helpful when I was writing my Master’s Degree dissertation. The trainers were very patient in teaching and listening to the trainees. The trainers have in-depth knowledge of the subject. They exhibited good communication skills as well.

Oluwatoyin Kolade Training Attendee

The Financial Literacy sessions were very engaging and comprehensive. I will use skills acquired in these sessions in my personal life to make informed financial decisions. I will also help my community by educating people on the benefits of financial wellbeing and in my workplace to teach clients the need to be financially independent and rely less on government benefits. The trainers were knowledgeable, friendly and passionate.

DAWSUN is a vibrant network that brings diaspora women together to support, empower, and uplift one another.
